Ice Cream gives us all the summer feels but it is actually a great snack for everyone at home all year round. We bring you that one ice cream recipe you are going to want to keep around, it’s super creamy, easy to make and has tons of fresh strawberry flavor. What makes it the best strawberry ice cream? It’s made with the Delifoods strawberries.
- Delifood strawberries 1 1/2 cups
- Honey 2 Tbsp
- Granulated sugar 1/2 cup
- Vanilla extract 1 tsp
- Heavy whipping cream 1 cup
- Half and half 1/2 cup
- Lemon juice 1 tsp
First thing to do is to hull and chop your strawberries into small pieces. In a large bowl, mix the strawberries with the sugar, honey, and lemon juice, and allow the mixture to sit about 15-20 minutes.
Once they have set, mash the strawberry mixture until there are no longer any big pieces throughout. Keep in mind that if you prefer a smoother strawberry ice cream, use a blender to puree them.
Now, add heavy cream, half and half, and vanilla extract to the strawberry mixture. Pour into an ice cream maker and follow your manufacturer’s directions (normally it is 15-20 minutes).
Once beat, you may serve it, that is if you like it soft. If you rather have it a bit thicker, chill it for 3-4 hours in the freezer. Then allow it to sit out for 5-10 minutes or so to soften, making it easier to scoop.
