Fava beans, the new must at dinner time

Wondering how to use fava beans at home? With our frozen bag is pretty simple, there is no need to remove them from their pod, pre cook or peel, they are ready to be seasoned. These protein and fiber packs are delicious to add to your diet.

These beans are also called broad beans, they are a very popular ingredient in the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. If you open one up you will find big, flat, oval-shaped green legumes inside. Also, they come in a larger size than those round sweet beans you find at the grocery, plus the flavor is complex, it is slightly bitter, sweet but a tender and buttery texture when cooked.

Ways to use fava beans:

  • Sauteed or drizzle them in with olive oil, add lemon juice, salt, and pepper for a simple side dish.
  • Add them to hummus.
  • Stir into lentil soup.
  • Use them in a greek salad.
